Meanwhile in Tyria…

Guild Wars 2, it’s the MMOrpg we choose to play after playing this genre of online game for over 25 years. We played World of Warcraft from launch until December 2024. There were a few breaks from the game over 20 years, but it was our primary mmorpg until we cancelled our subscription last December. In May of 2024, we reinstalled Guild Wars 2 as a game to play while waiting for new content to drop in WoW.

American Sky | Nim’s Review

Each month I look forward to selecting a through Amazon First Reads. It’s free thanks to our Amazon Prime subscription. Some months we get to select two books, or a book and a short story. It’s been a great source for finding new interesting authors. American Sky was offered in June, a month before it’s publication date. Historical fiction is a genre I love just as much as Cozy Mystery. Set it in World War II and it’s an immediate yes from me,

Welcome July!

It’s July! I’m a day late in welcoming the new month but here we go. The holiday weekend and hubby’s 10 day vacation are nearly here. He officially starts vacation tomorrow at 1:30 PM. He’s absolutely stoked to only have to work a half day. I spent today cooking, working on this site and reading the Book of Psalms.

When change happens it takes me a bit to reset my schedule. The change? I officially started my job…again. It’s the same job and yet it’s different in a lot of ways. The church, a plant in its 5th year, is going through changes. I compare it to a baby bird being kicked out of the nest to fly on its own. That sounds harsh. Our sending church is committed to each of its plants and they’re there for spiritual support as well as other ways to help us grow. The administration side of church businesses is now fully on us and that’s where the Lord has placed me. The administration side of church business and I love it.

ombining my love of baking with my love oh photography brings joy. I bake a lot for family as well as my church. If there’s a church gathering, there’s a 99.9% chance that one of the baked goods will be from my kitchen. Though I enjoy baking cupcakes and other desserts, I’ve fallen in love with baking bread.

At the Bow

My life in many ways is the same and yet it’s not. I’ve returned to a job that I stepped away from seven months ago. I struggled for a month before deciding to leave the job. At the time I thought I God was leading me to leave. Over months, He slowly revealed Himself to me as I asked him “Why did I have to leave a job I love?”. What I thought was the Holy Spirit telling me to go, was in fact a message to stay, to stand and to trust that God would work it out.

I tried to fix things myself.

State of the Gamer | June 2025

What a journey it’s been! My husband and I met online, in a game 25 years ago. We’ve been exploring realms every since. Our first game together was Everquest, but we quickly moved to Dark Age of Camelot. Through the years, we’ve racked up thousands of hours playing Star Wars Galaxies, Rift, Warhammer Online, Final Fantasy XIV, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Neverwinter, Dungeons & Dragons Online, WildStar, World of Warcraft and Guild Wars 2. We were hardcore WoW players until we finally ran out of patience with Blizzard. We’ve returned to Guild Wars last year and this is where we intend to stay.

Up and Running

Last month I got sick. I thought it was just a common cold on top of the usual onslaught of allergies as the season changed. It wasn’t but I’m very happy that I am finally feeling at 100% and can get back to my “regular” schedule. This weekend I got to support family and friends as they ran a local 5K for charity. Our girls (our great-nieces) both beat their personal records and won 1st place for their divisions. Hubby and I so proud of them!

In April I read several really good books and lost interest in one or two others. Since I’m no longer subscribed to Kindle Unlimited, I decided to check out the offerings in Prime Reading. Priming Reading books are free to Prime members. Going straight to the mystery section, I was happy to see that they had the subcategory “Cozy Mystery” and found these six books that caught my interest.

Baking Day!

I woke up knowing that I was going to smoke some Black Angus burgers for dinner tonight. The problem was that I didn’t have hamburger rolls and I didn’t want to buy another bag of overly processed junk from the grocery store. The solution? Bake some buns myself.
