Life isn’t always smooth sailing. Sometimes the bumps and detours feel more like mountains and valleys. But here’s the good news: Jesus never promised us a perfect life on earth—He promised to always be with us. And that makes all the difference.

So grab a cup of coffee and sit with me for a few minutes. I want to share a little story from my prayer time this morning, and how God used it to point me back to a familiar Bible passage in a fresh, powerful way.

Tonight, our D-Group dove into the story of Jonah. Like many, I remember Jonah from Sunday School and VBS—it was always about the guy who got swallowed by a whale. But until now, I had never actually studied the book of Jonah for myself. And wow... it’s so much more than a fish tale.

Back in January, I joined a small discipleship group at church—a pilot ministry started by my friend, who also happens to be our Women’s Ministry Director and the Pastor’s wife. God had laid five women on her heart, and I was one of them. When she invited me, I was honestly so excited. Over the past couple of years, my love for the Bible has absolutely taken off, so the idea of growing in the Word with a group of women felt like a gift.

This space has always been an extension of my handwritten journals, which I’ve been keeping for over 10 years. It began as a way to share slices of my life, from baking to gaming to creative projects. But over time, I realized that blending those things with my personal faith journey didn’t sit right with me.
