Ohana
Staycation 2025 started the afternoon of the 3rd. J worked a half-day and I finished up my work on Wednesday. We look forward to our staycations because we love our home. It’s where we invest our time and money. It’s where are grown children return for family dinners, holidays and random visits.

Welcome July!
It’s July! I’m a day late in welcoming the new month but here we go. The holiday weekend and hubby’s 10 day vacation are nearly here. He officially starts vacation tomorrow at 1:30 PM. He’s absolutely stoked to only have to work a half day. I spent today cooking, working on this site and reading the Book of Psalms.

19 Days Later
When change happens it takes me a bit to reset my schedule. The change? I officially started my job…again. It’s the same job and yet it’s different in a lot of ways. The church, a plant in its 5th year, is going through changes. I compare it to a baby bird being kicked out of the nest to fly on its own. That sounds harsh. Our sending church is committed to each of its plants and they’re there for spiritual support as well as other ways to help us grow. The administration side of church businesses is now fully on us and that’s where the Lord has placed me. The administration side of church business and I love it.

Philly With the Firstborn
May has been busy!
My oldest P, loves to travel. Last year he and L went to Italy for a month. The year before that they visited northern Scotland and this year he decided to stay stateside. He and L visited St. Augustine, FL, Disney, Key West and New Orleans before getting home. I joined them for the last few days before L had to fly home to Argentina. We decided to head to Philadelphia and visit the Museum of the American Revolution.

Up and Running
Last month I got sick. I thought it was just a common cold on top of the usual onslaught of allergies as the season changed. It wasn’t but I’m very happy that I am finally feeling at 100% and can get back to my “regular” schedule. This weekend I got to support family and friends as they ran a local 5K for charity. Our girls (our great-nieces) both beat their personal records and won 1st place for their divisions. Hubby and I so proud of them!

Hello May
Each year since I hit my 40s, I talk about how fast time flies. Here it is, May of 2025. We’re nearly halfway through the year! It doesn’t help that today, my baby boy turns 30 this month. What a ride it’s been to get to this point in life where my babies are 38, 34 and 30.

Easter Weekend 2025
Banger weekend, just banger. We kicked things off on Saturday with a good old fashioned BBQ. Gone are the days of ham, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes and green bean casserole. We theow down with smoked chicken breast, potato wedges, Mexican corn salad, garden salad, deviled eggs and of course, dessert.

What happens when a 63 year old grandma decides to try and make an audio recording while she’s recovering from a cold?

Welcome to Nim’s Cozy Corner
In my post “Anniversary and Indecision” I mentioned that I’m back on Squarespace. I’m just getting around to writing this welcome post after trying to import posts from my blog on Wordpress. I managed to get three imported and they have a few formatting issues. T

Anniversary and Indecision
Today is our 21st wedding anniversary. We're amazed that we both remembered. We find it amusing that in 21 years we forgot our anniversary more than we remembered it.

Romans 8:28 | Wednesday's Word
We’re in awe of the times when God moves in a mighty way. The time when I was driving at night and was nearly t-boned as I turned left to enter the interstate. It was a dark and stormy night…

It's Been Awhile! Recap Time!
Oh hey hi! It’s been awhile hasn’t it? I posted once in October and twice in September. The last several months of 2023 have ramped up for me and I’ve been busy adjusting to and embracing so many things recently. Let’s dive into the recap for October and November!

Hello October!
Wow, September went by fast didn’t it? The grandkids are back to school, the pool is closed for the summer, and we’re already 4 weeks into the 2023 NFL football season. I’m streaming Red Zone as I type this because the Commanders and Eagles are in overtime! Eagles you say? Betty? Aren’t you a Kansas City Chiefs fan
