Quest Log: June 2026
Today's Quest Log update is a little less about game mechanics and a little more about finding time for gaming in a busy season of life.
Life has been busy, busy, busy so far this June! I always chuckle when I fill out my planner at the beginning of the month and see a few blank days with nothing penciled in. Inevitably, those empty spaces fill up, and I'm always grateful that the Lord keeps me joyfully busy without allowing me to become overwhelmed. One thing I love to do when I have free time is play video games. And by "free time," I mean any time that isn't already dedicated to the things I prioritize most:
Spending time in prayer and in God's Word through church attendance and dedicated personal study.
Spending time with my husband and family.
Serving others by volunteering my time and talents at church and in my community, as well as sending cards and letters, dropping off meals, visiting, and staying connected through calls and texts.
Caring for our home because I am thankful and blessed to be a homemaker.
Working on this blog and sharing bits and pieces of my small, quiet life—one that I thank God for every day.
Because June has been so full, I haven't spent much time gaming on my own. However, hubby dearest's work schedule recently changed. He's now working four 10-hour shifts each week, which gives him three days off. He's thrilled to be back on this schedule, and after a little adjustment, I've discovered that I love it too. The three-day break together has been wonderful. Of course, those extra days still include yard work and household chores, but they've also given us more opportunities to adventure together in our favorite games.
This month, it's been all about Path of Exile 2.
When the game first released, I played for about a month before wandering away to other things. Recently, hubby, who I'll be referring to as Nykonis from here on out, and my oldest son both jumped back into the game. Their enthusiasm convinced me to give it another try.
Honestly, Path of Exile 2 is everything I hoped Diablo 4 would be when Blizzard released it. My only real complaint is that not every class offers both male and female character options. I generally prefer playing female characters, so while it's certainly not a deal-breaker, it's something I wish had been included. Still, they're just pixels, and hopefully I'll get over it long enough to try a Druid because some of those builds look amazing!
For now, though, I'm happily leveling a Ranger using a Deadeye build, and I'm having a great time with it. Whether I'm adventuring alongside Nykonis or tackling content on my own, it's been a fun way to unwind after some very full and very blessed June days.
